Building notices and orders

Receiving statutory building enforcement can be a stressful experience for building owners and operators.

Building enforcement can take many forms, such as building notices, building orders, building orders for minor work and emergency orders.  However, they typically are all issued because of non-compliances or safety issues with the subject building.

Resolving the issues that gave rise to the enforcement requires the assistance of specialist consultants and typically enforcement will not be cancelled by Council or the VBA without input from a registered building surveyor.
